WHICH
TYPE OF CANE SEAT DO YOU HAVE?
|

|
Pressed cane
seats are installed in a prewoven sheet. They have a beading or spline around
the edge of the cane. When the old cane is out, there is a routered groove
on the outside edge of the chair.

A hand-woven
cane chair has holes drilled into the wooden seat. The indidvidual strands
are woven into the chair and tied off underneath the seat. You should be able
to see knots underneath the chair where the cane has been tied into a knot. |
